"ARMENIAN COPPER"
Support A1+! A company is trying to totally cover the mining metallurgy sphere of Armenia. It has initiated implementation of “Armenian Copper” long term program thanks to support of Authorities.
5 years ago Alaverdi’s Copper-Founding factory was sold to Valeri Mejlumyan, who was involved in business in Russia. 2 more companies has been under his management since that time. One of them is in Karabagh. Those enterprises function within “Base Metals” Co. Ltd.
Working of new mines in the North of Armenia and establishment of net for buying copper resources in the region are envisaged under the “Armenian Copper” program
In spite of 5 year long activity, the company didn’t succeed to make the mining metallurgy sphere in Armenia as the demanded standards are.
“We go to it step by step. It is impossible to achieve notable results in 1 or 2 years. It can’ be carried out in the mining metallurgy sphere. ” ,- Company Chair Valeri Mejlumyan says.
The company is going to exploit 3 new mines. 2 of them are in Lori Province.
Under the development program prognoses, there will be no copper market in Armenia till 2006 .
”Base Metals” is known to be one of tax-payers to Armenia. As the Company Chair says, they are in friendly terms with the Ministry of State Revenue . Despite this, legal action may be brought against the company as a result of inspection. Valeri Mejlumyan prefers not to spread the case details.
