TURKISH BUSINESSMEN IN ARMENIA
Support A1+!A series of meetings between Turk and Armenian entrepreneurs have been held for three days. The key issue under discussion was the opening of Turkish-Armenian border. The meetings were held on Turk businessmen initiative. They've met the directors of about 30 factories. However, no agreements have been reached and no contracts signed as a result of the meetings.
Using their chance, Turk businessmen were trying to carry out top task of their mission – to convince the residence of blockaded by Turkey and Azerbaijan Armenia that it would be great if the roads, connecting Arnenia with Turkey start functioning.
Maybe they forgot that the roads opening doesn't depend on the Armenia decision. Tempting Armenian colleagues with the idea that in open-border condition turnover between the two countries can reach 400 million dollars, Turk businessmen remained stuck to their country's «national policy» saying the border couldn't be opened until Karabakh problem is solved. If the settlement lasts 100 years, the border will also remain closed for the same period, they say adding that the problem can be solved if Kocharyan's and Aliev's approaches to this issue change.
